PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In 2013 Shephard's Beach Resort began a total transformation and DSA provided interior design services for the newly named Ocean Flame Interactive Dining and Salt Tequila Bar & Tap Room. The Ocean Flame restaurant design plays on the duality of fire and water and the fluid, transformative nature of the ocean. Iridescent wave form glass dividing the different sections of the restaurant changes colors as you move through the space, giving a sense of motion and transformation. A large sweeping curve of translucent ceiling panels backed with an array of color changing LED lights allows the mood of the space to be completely transformed. The Salt Bar, which is flanked on one side by large sliding door panels, can be opened up for a truly unique, indoor/outdoor experience. With a more industrial but warm design approach, Salt Bar creates a vibrant and energetic mood. Utilizing materials like steel, polished concrete, and rich wood tones, it is meant to create a fun place for a drink while holding up to the beachfront climate.
